Abstract

The growing interest in the Raf kinase inhibitory protein (RKIP) is leading investigators to expand their purview to include its dynamic role in inflammation. While much of the current research on RKIP has been focused on cancer, parallel progress is being attained in relation to its impact on inflammation. Inflammation is a pathological process that is involved in the development, behavior and outcome of many diseases and conditions including cancer. This chapter provides a general review on the role of RKIP in key inflammatory signaling pathways and its ramifications on diseases associated with inflammation.
