This project aims to build a comprehensive database and economic and financial indicators for private sector in Kuwait. Private sector includes seven main sub-sectors: banking and financial intermediation, investment companies’ activity, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, food and other services. Database will be constructed using available published data and through field surveys and interviews with key businessmen. Data collection will be followed by the process of classifying, correcting, updating and forecasting data. A comprehensive economic and financial micro, sectoral and macro indicators will be constructed for each sub-sector and listed companies in Kuwait Stock Exchange. These indicators will be calculated periodically, such as quarterly, half-yearly and yearly, according to the availability of data and nature of the indicators. Also, the project includes econometric models and quantitative methods to calculate new indicators such as, productivity, efficiency indices, foreign investment indicators, consumer confidence, business confidence, economic stability, undertaking business risks, etc.
