Design, implementation & Evaluation of Web-based multimedia techniques for construction

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تطوير مناهج علوم التشييد المدني وتطوير أساليب تدريسها من خلال الاستعانة بوسائل تكنولوجيا الاتصالات الحديثة. ويتبلور هذا الهدف بإيجاد تكامل بين وسائل الاتصال الحديثة كتكنولوجيا الأقراص الممغنطة الخازنة للمعلومات وتكنولوجيا محاكاة الحاسوب الإلكتروني وتكنولوجيا تمثيل الحاسوب الإلكتروني ومن ثم إدخال هذا المنهج الإلكتروني المتكامل ضمن العملية التدريسية لمواد علوم التشييد المدني. فالناتج النهائي لهذا البحث سيكون عبارة عن منهج إلكتروني متعدد الوسائل يعزز من البيئة التعليمية للطالب وقدرته على ممارسة التحصيل العلمي الذاتي بمرونـة زمانيـة ومكانية. البحث هـو عبارة عن صورة لهذا المنهج الإلكتروني الحاوي على محتوى المادة العلمية وعلى طبيعة العلاقة الإلكترونية بين المدرس والطالب، كما أن تركيز هذا البحث منصب على طلبة التخرج وعلى مادة "طرق ومواد بناء" كمحتوى تدريسي.

The aim of the project is to integrate emerging computer technologies such as CD-ROM-based knowledge management, multimedia and web-based techniques, computer visualization and computer simulation/gaming, to provide a novel tool for construction education and constructability improvement. The project is concerned with: (1) development of a rich learning environment for the enhancement of undergraduate technology-oriented education; and (2) modeling of construction lessons learned into a multimedia web-based feedback system. This product will take the form of an interactive, animated, multimedia-based textbook, which will provide the primary source of reference for an undergraduate senior level course. The multimedia-based textbook would be implemented on CD-ROM and facilitate self-study (for distance learning) at a location, time and pace suited to the user. Specifically, the project will focus on the development of a multimedia-based tool which can be used for interdisciplinary senior level course in construction methods and materials, targeted at civil engineering students and feedback system for construction lessons learned from site experience.
