Development, Analysis and integration of the hydrogeological data in the State of Kuwait

إن الفهم الكامل للنظام الهيدروجيولوجي والتقييم الدقيق لمعاملاته (التضاريس، استخدامات الأراضي، التراكيب الجيولوجية، أنواع المكامن، الخصائص الهيدروليكية والجيومترية، معدلات السحب، نوعية المياه الجوفية) هو الأسلوب الأمثل لادارة واستمرار مصادر المياه الجوفية. ونظرا لتعدد الجهات التي تقوم بجمع المعلومات وفي أماكن وأزمنة متباينة فانه يلزم ربطها وتجميعها وتحليلها ثم حفظها في قاعدة معلومات. وسيتم حفر آبار استكشافية وعمل بعض التحليلات الكيميائية لاستكمال النقص في البيانات، ثم سيتم تمثيل النتائج في خريطتين هيدروجيولوجتين أحدهما لمجموعة الكويت والأخرى لمجموعة الدمام باستخدام نظام المعلومات الجغرافية (GIS)، علاوة على مذكرات إيضاحية ترفق معها.

Under this project, historic and time-dependent hydro-geological data will be collected, analyzed and maintained in a database. Exploratory boreholes will be drilled to bridge the information gaps. Field and laboratory chemical analyses will be conducted to define the water quality aspects. All information will be represented on two hydro-geological maps: one for the Kuwait Group aquifer and the other for the Dammam formation aquifer; the main aquifers in Kuwait. Several cross sections will be constructed to provide the third dimension of the maps. The maps will be developed using the ARC/INFO GIS. The developed maps will be subject to strict accuracy standards. Explanatory notes encompassing more details and comprehensive analyses on the hydro-geological system will be prepared. A user guide will be enclosed to allow for the efficient utilization of the maps.
