The Effect of Dietary Probiotics and Prebiotics on the Performance of Broiler Chickens in Kuwait

إن تقليل استخدام المضادات الحيوية في أعلاف الدواجن يعتبر من الاحتياجات الملحة لضمان سلامة وصحة الدواجن وللحد من انتشار الميكروبات المقاومة للمضادات الحيوية. يعتبر استخدام الميكروبات المفيدة والكربوهيدارت كبديل للمضادات الحيوية في أعلاف الدواجن من الأساليب التغذوية الفعالة في مجال إنتاج الدواجن. إن الاهداف الرئيسية لهذا البحث العلمي تشمل دراسة تأثير استخدام الميكروبات المفيدة والكربوهيدرات والمتواجدة حالياً بشكل تجاري على أداء الدجاج اللاحم وعلى نوعية اللحم المنتج وعلى الحالة المناعية تحت ظروف الكويت البيئية. تتضمن الدراسة خمسة مهام كالآتي: مهمة الإعداد والتحضير، ومهمة تربية الدجاج اللاحم، ومهمة دراسة تأثير استخدام الميكروبات المفيدة والكربوهيدارت على أداء الدجاج اللاحم وعلى الحالة المناعية، ومهمة دراسة تأثير استخدام الميكروبات المفيدة والكربوهيدرات على نوعية اللحم المنتج، ومهمة إعداد التقارير.

There has been an urgent need to minimize the use of antibiotics for health and safety reasons. Probiotics and prebiotics were claimed to serve as effective alternatives to replace antibiotics in poultry feed. Finding the effect of different commercial probiotics and prebiotics on the performance, meat quality and immune response of broiler chickens raised in Kuwait will provide researchers in the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) with information needed to help them in understanding and improving the performance of these broiler chickens. The major objective of this project is to investigate the effect of different commercially produced probiotics and prebiotics on the performance, meat quality and immune response of broiler chickens raised in Kuwait. This objective will be met through five tasks, namely, mobilization; raising of broiler chickens; investigation of the effect of probiotics and prebiotics on the performance and immune status of broiler chickens raised in Kuwait; investigation of the effect of probiotics and prebiotics on the meat quality of broiler chickens raised in Kuwait; and reporting.
