Project Details

Abstract English

The final project report presents description of survey conducted at seven different stations of Kuwait coastal waters and the study of trace metals in phytoplankton and seawater in relation to pollution. New attempts were made to determine the degree of trace metal pollution by conducting three experiments involving the isolation of phytoplankton (micro and nanoplankton) from seven marine localities. Studies on the toxicity of trace metals in relation to phytoplankton utilizing the oxygen-evolution method are included in the investigation. Results are presented and the generated data reveal the degree of pollution in each area. A detailed account with statistical justification is discussed at length in the report.
