The principal objective of this study is to assess the extent of institutional development in private sector organizations in the State of Kuwait and identify any deficiencies in this regard. The research proposes mechanisms based essentially on strategic planning and human resource development programs tailored to the needs of these organizations. It is believed that this approach is constructive in relation to raising the ability of these organizations to increase their efficiency and enhance their competitiveness. The findings of this project evolve from a field study conducted on a random sample of private sector organizations in the State of Kuwait. The survey prepared for the purpose of this investigation allowed for generating data in order to provide an assessment of the extent of current institutional development in the private sector, along with the identification of current processes and mechanisms for measuring performance within these organizations. The study proposes comprehensive strategies for promoting the culture and the practice of institutional development reflecting the specificities of the Kuwaiti private sector.
