The Labour Market in Kuwait: Policies, Estimations and Predictions

تأتي هذه الدراسة في إطار البحث العلمي في مجال إصلاح وتطوير منظومة القوى العاملة بما يدعم التوجهات التنموية في دولة الكويت. وتهدف الدراسة إلى إثراء قاعدة البيانات عن القوى العاملة في دولة الكويت خاصة فيما يتعلق بالقطاع الخاص وإلقاء الضوء على العوامل الفاعلة في إحداث التغييرات المنشودة من أجل تحقيق التوازن المطلوب في سوق العمل. وتتكون الدراسة من ثلاثة مباحث رئيسية. يتعلق المبحث الأول بوجهة نظر القطاع الخاص بشأن العمالة الوطنية استناداً لنتائج دراسة ميدانية تم تنفيذها لهذا الغرض. ويعتمد المبحث الثاني دراسة ميدانية تستهدف خريجي المؤسسات الجامعية لاستطلاع آرائهم حول سياسة التوظيف بالقطاع الخاص. أما المبحث الأخير للدراسة، فهو مخصص لتلخيص أهم نتائج البحث ولتقديم التوصيات ولتحديد متطلبات دراسة تكميلية على ضوء نتائج التحليل.

The context of this study involves a scientific research framework in the area of reforming and developing the workforce in an attempt to foster the developmental aspirations in the State of Kuwait. The study aims to enrich the workforce database in the State of Kuwait, with special emphasis on the private sector. It also aims to shed some light on the most important factors that can bring about the targeted changes in order to achieve the desired balance in the labor market. The study consists of three main research aspects. The first aspect involves the perception of the private sector regarding the national workforce based on results of a field study that was conducted specifically for this purpose. The second aspect involves a field study that targets university graduates in order to solicit their opinions regarding the employment (recruitment) policy in the private sector. The last research aspect is dedicated to summarizing the most important results and recommendations of the study as well as the requirements of a complementary study based on the analysis results.
