Development of Stress Score Due to Transportation and Handling and the Related Effects on some of the Physiological Behaviour in Imported Sheep to Kuwait - Phase 1 :Determining the Stress Score System

اجريت هذه الدراسه 2006-2008. حيث تم البدأ في الشروع في تنفيذ نظام الاجهاد و الذي يمكن ان يضاف الى الدولة هذا النوع من النظام. الاجهاد هو مقدار الإجهاد لقياس كثافة من الحيوانات التي تتعرض لإجهاد من اي نوع. وفي هذه الدراسة ، يتضح ان نتيجة النقل إلى المزرعة ، وظروف السكن في المزرعه واخيرا نقل الحيوانات الى المسلخ ومعالجة الاجراءات المصاحبه لهذا النقل. المقياس العددي الافتراضي يتناسب مع الحجم العددي مع التأكيد على ان هذا الرقم القياسي مستمد من الاجهاد و الذي يظهر واضحا في مستوى الهورمونات في الدم. المقياس الرقمي يتألف من ثلاثة مستويات 1 و هو مستوى منخفض من الاجهاد و3 هو مستوى مرتفع من الاجهاد. كمااظهرت النتائج ارتباط مستوى الاجهاد بمستوى cortisol> بنسبة 60 ٪ مع قيمة فعالة تقدر ب

This study was conducted 2006 - 2008. It dealt with the initiation of the stress scoring system that may add to the state of this art. The stress score is meant to measure the stress intensity of the animals that are subjected to stress of any kind. In this study, the stress is due to transportation to the farm, the housing conditions in the farm and finally the transportation to the slaughter house and the accompanying handling procedures. The hypothesized numerical scale was proportional with the stress index that was derived from the stress hormone levels in blood for the stressed animals. The numerical scale is a score of three being 1 is a low level of stress and 3 is the high level of stress.
