A team of researchers and practitioners from Centre for Child Evaluation & Teaching (Kuwait City, Kuwait),
Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions (Boston, MA, USA) and Canterbury University
in New Zealand (Christ Church, NZ) proposed a five-year (March 2012-March 2017) Test Development
Initiative for Arabic-speaking children and adults. This large-scale collaborative project, will target development
of culturally and linguistically appropriate diagnostic tools to enable early identification of children at risk for
reading and related language disabilities as well as developing age-appropriate tools for primary and middle
school-age children. It will also enable the development of tools for adults and college students in Arabic.
