The First National Kuwaiti Older Adults Health Survey

ان المسح الصحي الوطني الأول لكبار السن ھو أول دراسة ميدانية مسحية على مستوى دولة الكويت، يتم إجراؤه بالتعاون مع منظمة الصحة العالمية. ويھدف إلى جمع معلومات عن الحالة الصحية واستخدام الرعاية الصحية لكبار السن الذين يبلغون 65 عاما أو أكثر. كما يساعد على تحديث البيانات المتعلقة بمؤشرات النتائج والتي تعتبر ذات أھمية بالنسبة لصحة كبار السن ولصناع القرار .
وسيتم تنفيذ المسح الصحي الوطني الأول لكبار السن باستخدام الأدوات والوسائل المناسبة لتوفير معلومات فعالة من حيث التكلفة من شأنھا أن تكمل المعلومات الصحية الروتينية المتاحة عن كبار السن الكويتيين. كما سيقدم مؤشرات إضافية يمكن أن تساعد صانعي القرار على تخطيط وتقييم ومتابعة البرامج الصحية ومتابعة أداء النظام الصحي وضمان رصد أفضل لصحة ورفاه كبار السن الكويتيين .
ولتحقيق ھذه الأھداف، سيتم اختيار عينة قوامھا 0006 من كبار السن الكويتيين( 56 سنة بأكثر) يمثلون المجتمع الكويتي ويتم اختيارھم عشوائيا من مجموع السكان حسب قاعدة البيانات السكانية من الھيئة العامة للمعلومات المدنية. وسيتم أيضا تحديد المسئوليات والمھام المتعلقة (وحدة إضافية) لمجتمع الدراسة أيضا بجمع معلومات عن الفئات العمرية الأصغر سنا، الذين تتراوح أعمارھم بين 50 و64 سنة. وستخصص العينة حسب الجنس، الفئات العمرية وممثلة للسكان المستھدفين في ستة محافظات في الكويت.

The proposed study, Kuwaiti Older Adults Health Survey (KOAHS), is the first nation-wide survey in Kuwait, planned and designed in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). It aims to collect individual level information on the health status and health care utilization of older persons aged 65 or more. It will measure outcome indicators that are of importance to health and well-being of older adults and for evidence-in formed policymaking
The KOAHS will develop a means for providing cost efficient survey information that would supplement the routine health information available on Kuwaiti older adults. It will provide evidence that can help decision makers to plan and evaluate health programs, monitor the health system performance and ensure better monitoring of health and well-being of Kuwaiti older adults. The evidence will also be useful in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals.
To achieve these objectives, a representative sample of 6,000 Kuwaiti older adults (65 years and above) will be randomly selected from the total population drawn from the Public Authority Civil Information (PACI) system. An additional module will also collect information on younger age groups, aged 50 to 64. The sample will be proportionally allocated according to sex, six governates of Kuwait and age groups.
