Comparing the inpatients service quality of public and private hospitals in the State of Kuwait

تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى مقارنة جودة الخدمة الصحية بين المستشفيات العامة والخاصة للمرضى Inpatients في غرف التنويم .تكونت عينة الدراسة من 400 مريض ومريضة من الكويتيين. وكشفت الدراسة النقاب عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستويات الرضا عن جودة الخدمة الصحية بين المستشفيات العامة والخاصة حيث كانت نسبة الراضين عن جودة الخدمة الصحية في المستشفيات الخاصة ( 91.8 % ) اكبر من نسبة الراضين عن جودة الخدمة في المستشفيات العامة ( 80.3%) .كما وجدت الدراسة فروقا ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستويات الرضا عن أبعاد جودة الخدمة الصحية ( الأطباء / الممرضات/ الخدمات المعاونة) بين المستشفيات العامة والخاصة ولصالح الأخيرة. وأخيرا وليس أخرا تمثلت أهم محددات جودة الخدمة الصحية في المستشفيات العامة في الخدمات المعاونة، والممرضات والأطباء، في حين اقتصرت هذه المحددات على متغيرين هما الخدمات المعاونة والممرضات في مستشفيات القطاع الخاص.

The study aimed at comparing the quality of health services rendered to in-patients in private and public hospitals. The study sample consisted of 400 Kuwaiti male and female patients (200 from five public hospitals and 200 from four private hospitals). The study revealed statistically significant differences in satisfaction levels concerning the services rendered by public and private hospitals. The percentage of satisfied persons in the private hospitals (91.8%) was greater than that of persons in public hospitals (80.3%). The study also revealed statistically significant differences in satisfaction levels concerning some aspects of health services (physicians/ nurses/ supporting services) between the public and private hospitals. The quality level of health services in public hospitals depended on assessment of supporting services, nurses and physicians, while in private hospitals it was restricted to supporting services and nurses only.
