HLA Gene Frequency in the Kuwaiti Arab Population and Establishment of National Registry

يلعب استزراع الخلايا الدموية غير المتخصصة دورا أساسيا في علاج الاختلالات المرتبطة بالخلايا الدموية. وتؤثر العلاقة المناعية والجينية بين المانح والمتلقي بشكل كبير على مخرجات الخلايا الدموية غير المتخصصة. وعادة ما يتم تشفير هذا التفاوت بين المانح والمتلقي من خلال مستضدات كريات الدم البيضاء البشريه(HLA). وتعد هذه دراسة واعدة حيث يتم خلالها استخدام تقنية الحمض النووي لتقييم تكرار السلسلة الجينية لمستضدات HLA في المجتمع الكويتي.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) plays an important role in the treatment of hematopoietic disorders. The immunologic and genetic relationship between donor and recipient profoundly influences the outcome of SCT. This donor/recipient disparity is mainly coded by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA). This is a prospective study using DNA technology to assess the HLA allele frequency among Kuwaiti population.
