Challenges and Solutions in the Development of Renewables in Resource-Rich MENA Economies

"أهداف اتفاقية المنح الدراسية هي:
1. تكريس بحوث متعمقة من قبل باحثي مركز أكسفورد لدراسات الطاقة وشبكة الباحثين المنتسبين لها في الكويت في مجالات رئيسية بحثية هي:
• التحديات والحلول في مجال تنمية مصادر الطاقة المتجددة في اقتصادات الدول الغنية بموارد الطاقة في دول الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
• إصلاح منظومة تسعير الطاقة في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي مع التركيز على الكويت.
• ديناميات سوق النفط.
2. ضمان اتاحة نتائج البحوث للجمهور على أوسع نطاق ممكن من خلال مركز أكسفورد لدراسات الطاقة. وتكون جميع البحوث في إطار هذا البرنامج متاحة للجمهور على الإنترنت مستهدفة بذلك زيادة جدية النقاش والحوار الأكاديمي بين الكويت ودول الاقليم بشكل أوسع.
3. أتاحه فرص بناء القدرات في مجال التعاون بين مركز أكسفورد لدراسات الطاقة والمؤسسات الكويتية في البحوث والورشة الختامية. كما تستهدف الاتفاقية اتاحة الفرص للأكاديميين الكويتيين للاستفادة من الزمالة العلمية في المركز فضلا عن فرص التدريب الداخلي للطلبة الكويتيين في مركز أكسفورد لدراسات الطاقة."

"The objectives of this grant agreement is as follows:

1. To devote in-depth research by OIES staff and associate network of researchers in Kuwait into the following key areas:
• Challenges and solutions in the development of renewables in resources-rich NENA economics.
• Energy pricing reforms in the GCC states, with specific emphasis on Kuwait.
• The dynamics of oil market.
2. To make the program's research findings accessible to as wide a public as possible through OIES. All research produced under this program will be available for public access online, and is hence aimed to fuel academic debate and discussion with Kuwait and the wider region.
3. To offer capacity-building opportunities in cooperation between OIES and Kuwaiti institutions, in research and the final workshop, as well as via opportunities for visiting fellowships for Kuwaiti academics, as well as internship opportunities for Kuwaiti students."
