Producing Low Cholesterol Table Eggs and Improving Laying Performance by Using Locally Available/Produced Natural Resources

هناك اهتمام لإنتاج منتجات دواجن ذات قيمة مضافة لتلبية حاجة المستهلكين ذوو نمط الحياة الصحي. يعد إنتاج بيض المائدة المنخفض الكوليسترول من الإنجازات المهمة في هذا المجال، وذلك من خلال استخدام مكونات غذائية وظيفية مثل أوراق الاعشاب الطبيعية، والميكروبات المفيدة. مما يساهم في تعزيز الأمن الغذائي المحلي والإقليمي عن طريق توفير منتجات صحية للمستهلك. ان الهدف من المشروع المقترح هو دراسة تأثير أوراق السدر المستوطنة، ومزيج الميكروبات المفيدة المنتجة محليا، والرز الأحمر المخمر على الأداء الإنتاجي للدجاج البياض، ونسبة الكوليسترول والدهون في صفار البيض، الحالة المناعية للقطيع، حالة الأكسدة، والخصائص التذوقية للبيض المنتج. كما سيتم دراسة التكلفة الاقتصادية لاستخدام أ أوراق السدر المستوطنة، ومزيج الميكروبات المفيدة المنتجة محليا، والرز الأحمر المخمر في علف الدجاج البياض وسيتم تحقيق ذلك من خلال 7 مهام على مدى 24 شهراً، بميزانية إجمالية قدرها 124,760 د.ك منها 78,000 د.ك للعمالة و46,760 د.ك للنفقات التشغيلية

There has been an interest in the production of designer poultry meat and eggs to meet the need of consumers with a healthy lifestyle. One of these approaches is the production of low cholesterol egg yolk. This approach is successful using various functional ingredients, such as natural herb leaves and probiotics supplementation that can be added to chicken feed to significantly reduce the yolk’s cholesterol levels. This would definitely contribute to the local and regional food security. The objective of the proposed project is to investigate the effect of the locally available Ziziphus leaves, the locally produced probiotic mix, and fermented red mold rice on the productive performance of laying hens, egg yolk cholesterol, immune status, anti-oxidation status of laying hens, and the organoleptic characteristics of the produced table eggs. Economic cost study on using Ziziphus leaves, local probiotics mix, and fermented red mold rice in layer feed will also be studied. This will be achieved through 7 tasks with duration of 24 mo, with a total budget of KD 124,760, including KD 78,000 for manpower salaries, and KD 46,760 for operational expenses.
