Natural Radioactivity Exposure to The Kuwaiti Populace from The Ingestion of Fish

هذه الدراسة تهدف إلى معرفة الإشعاعات الطبيعية الناتجة عن استهلاك الأسماك في دولة الكويت. وتحديدا، سيتم قياس كمية الأنوية المشعة طويلة الأمد الباعثة لأشعة جاما في عينات للأسماك من السوق المحلية. وبناءً على هذه القياسات، سيتم تقدير الجرعات الإشعاعية لمستهلكي الأسماك. إن أهمية هذه الدراسة تكمن في المساعدة على إيجاد مستوى للتعرض الإشعاعي الناتج من استهلاك الطعام.

This study proposes to investigate the natural radioactivity in fresh fish consumed in Kuwait. Specifically, long-lived gamma emitting radionuclides will be measured in fish samples collected from the local market. Based on these measurements, annual effective doses will be estimated. It is believed that the output of this study will help in establishing a local baseline of the radioactivity levels exposed to the general public from the ingestion of food.
