A Framework to Integrate Smartphones as A Mobile Learning Tool in Kuwait University

انتشرت الهواتف الذكية في أيامنا هذه واثرت على كل مناحي الحياة. وبسبب مواصفاتها الاستثنائية – كصغر حجمها وقوة أدائها ووظائفها المتعددة- أصبحت من أفضل أدوات التعلم المتنقل. ولأن فهم المعالم والعوامل التي تؤثر على عملية دمج التكنولوجيا هو المفتاح لتقبلها واستخدامها كأداة تعلم، فلا بد من دراسة تلك العوامل قبل تعميم تجربة استخدام تلك التكنولوجيا وذلك لضمان نجاحها. ويعد "نموذج تقبل التكنولوجيا" من اشهر النماذج التي استخدمت في عدة دراسات هدفت إلى تفسير والتنبؤ بقابلية المستخدمين للتكنولوجيا الحديثة. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل مدى تقبل طلبة جامعة الكويت لاستخدام الهواتف الذكية كأداة تعلم، كما تهدف إلى بناء إطار مرجعي لدمج الهواتف الذكية كأداة للتعلم المتنقل

Smartphones today are ubiquitous and are influencing our everyday life and have unsettled many age-old tasks, activities, devices, gadgets, tools and technologies with their redefined usage and definitions. They have relatively strong computing capability built into small sizes, their connectivity and are equipped with intuitive operating systems, smart sensors and applications. They have become excellent contrivance as an instant learning content provider, prompt and handy communicator, productivity agent and a multipurpose device. The understanding of parameters which govern their customized and personalized integration is the key to a successful acceptance and assimilation of this device as a learning tool. Technology acceptance models are used in studies aimed at predicting and explaining the user`s behaviors towards the acceptance and usage of new technologies. This research reports the findings which focused on analyzing the acceptance of smartphones as learning tools by comparing the College of Kuwait University. This research will formally develop a framework to integrated Smartphone as a mobile learning tool.
