Standardization of the Wechsler Pre-school and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-III) - Phase 2

يهدف هذا المشروع إلى تقنين مقياس وكسلر لذكاء أطفال ما قبل المدرسة والمرحلة الإبتدائية (WPPSI، طبعة 2003) بما يتناسب مع البيئة والثقافة الكويتية بصفة خاصة والمجتمع الخليجي بصفة عامة، وذلك على عينة ممثلة للفئات العمرية من 2:6 سنوات وحتى 7:3 سنوات. والتحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية وإعداد جدول معايير للمقياس لهذه الفئات العمرية لكل من الذكاء اللفظي، والذكاء العملي، والذكاء العام. وقد اُعد صورتين من المقياس : إحداهما للفترة العمرية (2:6 – 3:11 سنوات) والأخرى للأعمار (4 – 7:3 سنوات)، ودليل تعليمات للتطبيق وكتيب للصور. وعُرض المقياس على محكمين مختصين في مجال الطفولة والاختبارات وأُجريت التعديلات وفق آراء المحكمين. وأجري التجريب الاستطلاعي الأول على عينة قوامها 190 طفلا وطفلة تتراوح أعمارهم بين 2:6 – 7:3 سنوات بواسطة خمسة أخصائيات نفسيات من إدارة الخدمة النفسية بوزارة التربية بعد تدريبهن على كيفية تطبيق الاختبار وجمع البيانات. و تم تحليل بيانات التجريب الاستطلاعي الأول وتعديل المقياس وتعليمات التطبيق وكتيب الصور لاستخدامها في التجريب الثاني. وقد تم الانتهاء من جمع بيانات عينة التجريب الاستطلاعي الثاني للفترة العمرية 2:6 – 3:11 سنوات، ويجري حاليا جمع بيانات عينة التجريب الاستطلاعي الثاني للفترة العمرية 4 – 7:3 سنوات.

The purpose of this study was to standardize The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-III) according to Kuwaiti culture in particular and Gulf society in general on a sample of children ranged from 2:6 to 7:3 years old, determine the psychometric properties of the scale, and develop norms for each age level for both of verbal IQ, performance IQ, and Total IQ. Two forms of the test were designed. The first form was intended to test children from the age 2:6 to 3:11 years old, whereas the second form for the children aged 4 to 7:3 years old, together with administration manual, and stimulus book. Specialists in the field reviewed the items of the subscales, and modifications were done based on their comments. The Data for the first pilot testing of the scale were collected on a representative sample of 190 children aged 2:6 to 7:3 by five trained psychologists from Ministry of Education. Data were statistically analyzed and modifications were done according to these analyses together with manual and stimulus book. Data for the second pilot testing were collected for the age level 2: 6 - 3:11 years, whereas data for the age 4 - 7:3 years are in the process of the collection since October 2007.
