Development of Computer Workshop for the Blind in Kuwait University

لقد كان الهدف من المشروع تطوير مختبر الحاسب الآلي للمكفوفين الموجود في جامعة الكويت (منطقة الشويخ) والذي تم إنشاؤه من قبل المعهد منذ عدة سنوات وذلك ليواكب التطورات التكنولوجية الحديثة في هذا المجال. كما كان الهدف أيضا تطوير مختبر جديد متكامل للحاسب الآلي للمكفوفين في جامعة الكويت (منطقة كيفان). وقد تم تزويد المختبرين بالمعدات والوسائل ذات التقنية العالية اللازمة لقراءة وتحرير وطباعة النصوص بطريقة برايل ولغة المبصرين وباللغتين العربية والانجليزية.

The aim of this project was to upgrade the blind computer workshop available in Kuwait University (Shuwaikh area) that was developed by KISR few years ago to match the advancement of technology in computers. Further more, a new blind computer workshop to be developed in Kuwait University (Kifan area). Both workshops are equipped with high technology computers and software which enable the blind to use the computer, read, write and print documents in Arabic, English and Braille languages.
